Lukas E4 Generation · 2024–2025

Lukas E4 Technology

Six engineering innovations define the E4 generation — from EV-safe insulation and Captium IoT to Shark-Tooth Tips and IP 58 sealing. Every E4 tool includes all six technologies as standard.

Six Technologies. Every Tool.

Every Lukas E4 rescue tool ships with all six E4 technologies built in — no upgrade packages or optional extras.

Intuitive Dashboard

The E4 Dashboard provides real-time multi-sensory feedback directly on the tool. A remaining-stroke indicator shows how much travel is left, roll warnings alert the operator to unsafe tool angles, and system status is displayed at a glance — even in darkness, noise and stress.

Rescuers don't need to take their eyes off the victim. The dashboard communicates through visual, audible and tactile signals — reducing the cognitive load on operators during high-pressure vehicle extrication.

📊

Real-Time Feedback

  • Remaining stroke indicator
  • Roll warning alert system
  • System status display
  • Multi-sensory: visual + audible + tactile
  • Readable in direct sunlight and darkness
📡

Captium Data

  • Operating cycle count
  • Force and load history
  • Maintenance interval alerts
  • Real-time service status
  • GPS geofencing & tracking
  • Cloud-based fleet dashboard

Captium™ IoT Connectivity

Every E4 tool has an embedded Lukas Captium module that connects to the Captium cloud platform. Rescue coordinators and fleet managers can monitor tool condition, operating history and service intervals without physical inspection.

Geofencing ensures tools stay within authorised areas. If a tool leaves its designated zone, an alert is triggered — critical for agencies managing large equipment inventories across multiple stations.

Shark-Tooth Tips

Lukas Shark-Tooth Tips are fitted to all E4 spreaders and combi tools. The multi-angle tooth geometry bites into coated, curved and ultra-high-strength vehicle materials — preventing the tip from sliding off under load.

In practice, this means operators can apply full spreading force from the very first contact point, without the tool skating across the door edge or B-pillar. Safer for the casualty, faster for the crew.

🦷

Grip Under Load

  • Multi-angle tooth geometry
  • Prevents slippage on coated surfaces
  • Works on UHSS (ultra-high-strength steel)
  • Maintains contact point under full force
  • Field-replaceable tip set

1,000 V Rated

  • Tool body fully insulated
  • Blades & tips insulated to 1,000 V
  • DC and AC rated
  • Safe for EV battery pack proximity
  • No additional gloves or blankets required
  • Tested & certified per IEC 60900

1,000 V EV Insulation

All E4 tools have the entire outer surface and blade system insulated to 1,000 V DC/AC — the standard required for safe contact with electric vehicle high-voltage systems. This means rescuers can work in direct proximity to exposed EV battery packs without additional PPE.

As battery-electric vehicles become the majority on roads across the UAE and Africa, 1,000 V insulation is becoming a baseline requirement for any modern rescue procurement, not an optional extra.

IP 58 Protection

IP 58 means the tool is dust-tight (first digit: 5) and protected against continuous submersion (second digit: 8) — beyond the IP 67 rated by many competitors. E4 tools can be submerged in water and continue operating without failure.

In the Middle East and Africa context, this matters for flood rescue, offshore platform incidents, and for tools stored in vehicle lockers exposed to dust, sand and humidity year-round.

🛡️

IP 58 Explained

  • 5 = Dust-tight protection
  • 8 = Continuous submersion rated
  • Operates in rain, flood and mud
  • Salt water resistant (special 9 Ah version available)
  • Sealed battery system included
🔋

Always Ready

  • Direct-to-tool charging port
  • No battery removal required
  • Charge in tool roll or vehicle locker
  • Compatible 5 Ah and 9 Ah rescue batteries
  • 100–240 V and 12–24 V chargers available

Integrated On-Tool Charging

E4 tools charge directly via a built-in port — the battery stays in the tool during charging, eliminating the risk of batteries being left out of tools at the start of a shift. Tools can be charged in their vehicle locker, ready to deploy without any preparation.

Compatible chargers are available for both 100–240 V AC (station charging) and 12–24 V DC (vehicle charging), so tools remain topped up whether at the station or at a staging area.
